The Washoe County School District (WCSD) is seeking proposals for professional services to support its aviation and drone education initiative. The selected vendor will build and sustain drone-based STEM programming in up to 30 elementary and middle schools, with a focus on Title I schools. Key components include teacher professional development, in-school program implementation support, and mentorship. Vendors are encouraged to propose innovative student-facing programs. Proposals are due by May 22, 2026. Questions must be submitted by May 5, 2026.
The bid submission deadline is May 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM local time. Proposals received after this time will not be accepted.
The bid notice states that WCSD's payment terms are net 30 after services are rendered and in receipt of an accurate invoice. WCSD is tax-exempt and does not pay state/local taxes, interest, or late fees.
The bid notice requires the proposer to provide information regarding any relevant manufacturer's warranty for products. If the cost of a warranty is separate, it must be provided on Exhibit C. The proposer is responsible for providing details about the manufacturer's warranty with the proposal submission, including commencement, duration, covered parts/repairs, and claim process.
The award will be based on an evaluation of six criteria: Price Schedule Form, Teacher Professional Development Component, Program Implementation Support/Mentorship Component, Additional Program Services/Innovative Practices Component, Past Performance and Reliability, and Implementation Plan. The final recommendation of award is subject to review and approval by WCSD's Board of Trustees.
Proposers must have prior experience delivering K-12 STEM education programs with documented outcomes, experience supporting competitive or project-based STEM programs, organizational capacity to deliver all three service components, and compliance with WCSD requirements for contractors working in schools. Experience with Title I schools and diverse student populations is highly desirable.
In case of default by the awarded proposer, WCSD may procure services from other sources, deduct from unpaid balances, collect against submitted surety, or assess a penalty equal to five percent (5%) of the total proposal price.
An unsuccessful proposer may appeal the results by submitting a notice of protest to WCSD's Director of Procurement and Contracts no later than five (5) business days from when the letter of intent recommendation of award is posted.
