This is a public tender notice for the 2026 Little Traverse Paving Project by the Emmet County Road Commission. The project involves approximately 1. 13 miles of cold milling, HMA paving, structure adjustments, aggregate base, machine grading, gravel shoulders, slope restoration, and pavement marking. Bids will be accepted until 9:00 a. m. local time on June 16, 2026, at **** E. Hathaway Road, Harbor Springs, MI **** packages are available on the Emmet County Road Commission website or at their office. Mailed bids must be received by 3:30 p. m. the business day prior to bid opening. The project start date is after September 8, 2026, with a completion date of October 1, 2026, within 15 calendar days of the start date. The contractor must coordinate with the engineer for project start and submit various project submittals for review. The Emmet County Road Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids.
The project completion date is October 1, 2026, and the project shall be completed within fifteen (15) calendar days of the starting date.
The Emmet County Road Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids to waive irregularities or informalities.
The bidder has examined the plans, specifications, special provisions and related materials in the proposal, as well as the location of the work described in the proposal for this project, and is fully informed as to the nature of the work and conditions relating to its performance.
If the contractor fails to provide driveway access with a drop-off not exceeding 4 inches, the road commission will levy liquidated damages of **** per calendar day that a drop-off exceeds 4 inches in any driveway. Liquidated damages will be assessed for failure to complete the project by the specified date or by the allowed number of days specified once work begins, due to lack of effort, poor organization or ability to perform on the contractor's part.
A sample fertilizer bag and seed ticket, from the materials used on the project, must be submitted to the engineer within 7 days of completion of restoration.
The contract/project agreement will be invalid if insurance expires during the authorized period of work described.
