The extension is justified by the need for uninterrupted support, the sole source nature of the service provider, and the potential delays and costs associated with a recompete. The extension will utilize the same labor categories and rates as previously negotiated. Market research for a follow-on solicitation is ongoing, but the need is immediate and no other potential sources can support the timeframe and duration required.
