The City of Ballwin, Missouri, is seeking bids for the removal and replacement of plumbing related to showers in three locker rooms. Bids are due December 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM. The successful bidder must comply with prevailing wage laws. A notice to proceed is expected on January 13, 2026, with work commencing in the summer of 2026. Bid security of 5% of the base bid is required. The city reserves the right to reject any or all bids. The contractor must provide a seven 7 hour course in construction safety and health approved by the occupational safety and health administration osha or a similar program approved by the missouri department of labor and industrial relations which is at least as stringent as an approved osha program. The training must be completed within sixty 60 days of the date work on the project commences. The contractor shall keep posted in a prominent and easily accessible place at the project site a clearly legible statement of all prevailing hourly wage rates to be paid to all workers employed on the construction of the project. The contractor and each subcontractor shall submit to the city of ballwin monthly during the construction of the project certified copies of payroll records for all workers employed on the project. The contractor shall forfeit, as a penalty, to the city of ballwin the sum of 2, 500, plus one hundred dollars **** for each worker employed by the contractor or by any subcontractor for each working day or portion thereof that such worker is paid less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages as determined by the department of labor and industrial relations of the state of missouri for work performed under the city contractor agreement. The contractor shall perform with his own organization, work amounting to not less than 50 percent of the total contract cost.
The physical work on site will be scheduled to begin in the summer of 2026 and shall continue uninterrupted as outlined in the specifications.
The contractor shall submit requests for payment not more than once monthly. All requests for payment shall be itemized and shall reflect an estimate of the proportionate value of work actually performed at the project site through the last day of the previous month.
The contractor expressly guarantees the aforesaid work as to workmanship and quality of materials used in connection herewith for a term of one 1 year, commencing on the date of final acceptance by the city, and binds itself, its successors or assigns, to make all replacements which may become necessary within said period due to construction defects and nonconformity with the contract documents.
The city of ballwin intends to award a contract for the project based on the bid that, in the city of ballwins sole discretion, best meets the interests and requirements of the city.
The bidder shall furnish evidence satisfactory to the city of ballwin that the bidder has the necessary facilities, ability and pecuniary resources to fulfill the conditions of the contract documents.
Contractors and subcontractors in violation of this provision will forfeit to the city of ballwin 2, **** plus **** a day for each employee who is employed without training.
There will be no prebid meeting.
