Norfolk County Bids, MA

The bids are due to the office of the assistant superintendent for finance and operations, Needham Public Schools, **** Highland Avenue, Needham, MA **** by June 1, 2026, 10:00 AM.

Payments for all school bus transportation services will be made upon receipt of an approved invoice each month, for transportation services provided during the preceding month.

One contract for all transportation services specified herein will be awarded to the responsive and responsible bidder with the lowest grand total price over the three-year contract period, July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2029.

Bidders must provide evidence of satisfactory ability and experience to execute the requirements, specifications, and conditions of this bid. The district reserves the right to investigate the financial responsibility of any and all bidders.

If at any time, the contractor does not provide the required number of buses or drivers for any part of the transportation system, the school committee may deduct the per diem per incident for each bus or driver not provided in accordance with the contract as liquidated damages.

A prebid meeting will take place on May 19, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Needham Public Schools Administration Building, **** Highland Avenue, Needham, MA ****.

Questions must be submitted in writing, via fax, email or US post to: Melane Bisbas, Needham Public Schools, May 22, 2026, 12:00 PM.

Late proposals will not be accepted. The town reserves the right to reject any and all bids as determined to be in the interests of the town and to waive minor informalities.

The bid submission deadline is no later than 10:00 AM on June 9, 2026. The contract is expected to be completed by June 30, 2026.

Payment for materials and/or services will be made only after satisfactory performance of all requirements of the specification and upon approval by the Director of Public Works or their designate. Prepayment is not allowed.

The contractor will warrant that all workmanship shall be first class and shall be performed by persons qualified and licensed in their respective trades. Any defective workmanship shown to be caused by improper or faulty installation shall cause the contractor to correct, repair and/or replace all material and labor at no cost to the town.

The town will award the contract to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder based upon the total bid price.

All bidders must furnish proof of a minimum of three continuous years in business. All bidders must provide owner contact information for five projects of similar nature and scope completed within the last five years.

Failure to meet response time obligations may subject the contractor to penalties of $500 per business day for noncompliance. Failure to comply with the requirement for a project supervisor may result in a penalty of $200 per day. Failure to employ a minimum of 1 competent worker on site daily may result in a penalty of $200 per business day.

Proposals from companies or individuals not acknowledging the addenda may be rejected as not responsive. Late bids will not be considered. The town reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

The bid notice states that sealed bids must be submitted no later than 1:00 PM, June 9, 2026.

Payment shall be made on the amount of work performed based upon the unit prices placed on the bid forms. Payment shall be made upon submission of an invoice and acceptance of the work by the director of nutrition services or her designated agent. Prepayment is not allowed.

A prebid conference will be held at 11:00am on Thursday May 28, 2026, starting at the library, located at **** Highland Avenue, then immediately following at eliot elementary school located at 135 Wellesley Avenue, Needham, MA **** is strongly encouraged but not required.

Late bids will not be considered.
