Carteret County Government is seeking proposals for historic courthouse drywall ceiling repairs and painting. The project includes drywall installation, finishing, painting of ceilings, walls, doors, trim, and HVAC grates, as well as minor electrical work. A site visit is mandatory. Proposals are due by July 16, 2026. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, and equipment. Damages caused by the contractor must be repaired at their expense. The county reserves the right to award to multiple contractors. Insurance and a detailed cost breakdown are required. Payment is made within 30 days after acceptance of work and submission of invoices. A 12-month guarantee on materials and workmanship is required. Liquidated damages of **** per day will be applied for late completion, with a deadline of August 30, 2026.
Proposals are due no later than July 16, 2026, by 10:00 am, EST. The work must be fully completed no later than August 30, 2026.
Payment will be made in one lump sum within thirty (30) consecutive days after acceptance of the work and the submission of notarized contractor's affidavit and four copies of invoices.
The contractor shall unconditionally guarantee materials and workmanship against defects for a period of twelve (12) months following the final acceptance of the work.
Carteret County Government reserves the right to award to multiple contractors deemed to be fully qualified and best suited among others submitting proposals on the basis of the evaluation factors included within this RFP.
Each contractor shall fill out the required information within this RFP and submit a certificate of insurance for liability and workers compensation in order for the proposal to be qualified.
For each day in excess of the completion date (August 30, 2026), the contractor shall pay the owner the amount of fifty dollars (****) as liquidated damages.
The contractor shall schedule a site visit with the county POC to familiarize themselves with the scope of work. It is understood and agreed that by submitting a bid that the contractor has visited the site of the work.
Failure to comply with any requirement may cause the proposal to be considered irregular and may be grounds for rejection. Failure to provide required bonds may be grounds for forfeiture of bid security and award to the next lowest responsible bidder.
