Sealed proposals for temporary personnel custodians and cafeteria services will be received by the Mobile County Public Schools Purchasing Department until Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Bidders must comply with Alabama immigration law and provide an affidavit of immigration compliance. Payment will be made via Visa virtual credit card program through aocregions bank. The contract period is for one year from the board approval date, extendable for a maximum of two additional years. The bidder with the lowest cost per hour bid will be the primary contractor, with alternate awards to other bidders in order of their cost per hour bid. The school board reserves the right to cancel the award if the contractor fails to deliver within a reasonable period of time. Bidders must provide 3 references, including name, address, phone number, contact person, and email address. All bids must be submitted on the forms provided by the board and signed by an authorized representative. Errors discovered after the bid opening may not be corrected.
Bids must be received in the purchasing office by the date and time specified on the bid cover. All bids will be accepted until the time and date stated on the bid cover. No bids will be accepted that extend past the time and date on the bid cover.
Payment will be made within thirty 30 days after receipt and approval of the vendor's invoice by the school system, for work performed over any two 2 week period. Said invoice shall reflect total time on timecard used for said two 2 week period.
The bidder expressly warrants that all articles, material and work offered shall conform to each and every specification, drawing, sample, or other description which is furnished to or adopted by the school district, and that it will be fit and sufficient for the purpose intended, merchantable, of good material and workmanship, and free from defect. The bidders further warrants all items for a period of one year, unless otherwise stated, from the date of acceptance of the items delivered and installed or work completed.
The bidder submitting the lowest cost per hour bid will be designated as the primary contractor. Alternate awards will be made to other bidders in order of their cost per hour bid.
Bidders must have an adequate number of personnel available for temporary employment for the mobile county public schools. All temporary employees are to be insured and bonded. The vendor must be an equal opportunity employer. Certificates for liability and bond insurance and the certification as an equal opportunity employer must be submitted with the bid, or the bid may be rejected.
Failure to fulfill contractual obligations shall be considered just cause for termination of the contract, and the contractor is not entitled to recover any costs incurred by the contractor up to the date of termination.
Bidders will not be required to furnish samples at the time of bid opening, unless specifically called for. The board reserves the right to request samples after bid opening to assist in the evaluation of proposals submitted.
Any protest to the board's consideration of any bid must be submitted in writing and received by the purchasing director no later than five 5 calendar days after awarding date of the bid.
