The City of Imperial is seeking bids for the replacement of residential exterior doors at the City Apartments. The project includes the supply and installation of new energy-star rated front and rear doors, hardware, and weatherproofing materials. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting and site walk will be held on July 30, 2026. Questions are due by August 4, 2026. Bids are due by August 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM PST. Contractors must be licensed and registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. The estimated quantities are approximate, and final compensation will be based on actual work completed.
The proposal due date is August 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM PST. The entire project shall be completed within twenty 20 consecutive calendar days after receiving a written notice to proceed.
The contract documents call for monthly payments based upon the engineers estimate of the work completed. The city will retain five percent 5 of each progress payment as security for completion of the balance of the work.
Contractor shall provide warranty information for doors, hardware, and workmanship. The contract performance bond includes a one year guarantee of all materials and workmanship.
The award of the contract, if made, will be to the lowest responsible bidder, as determined solely by the city.
Qualified contractors are invited to bid. The contractor must possess a current and valid contractors license issued by the state of California and be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations.
If work is not completed within the contract time, the contractor shall pay the agency the sum of five hundred dollars **** for each and every calendar day of delay.
A nonmandatory prebid meeting, followed by a project site walk, will be conducted at 8:30 a. m. on Thursday July 30, 2026, at 420 South Imperial Avenue, Imperial, CA.
Contractor shall provide material samples or digital sample boards, clearly labeled and representative of actual installed appearance. All required options shall be included as part of the base bid.
Questions concerning the proposal should be received no later than 2:00 p. m. Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
Failure by the successful bidder to enter into a contract with the city or to deliver goods and/or services in accordance with the bid may result in a declaration by the city that the bidder is not a responsible bidder, and elimination from consideration in future bidding.
