Sealed bids are solicited for the purchase and removal of designated merchantable timber on approximately 141 acres located on Naval Air Station Meridian Main Base, Lauderdale County, Mississippi. The sale is per unit ton. Bids are due no later than 2:30 PM CST on Thursday, July 24, 2025, and shall be submitted in paper media, in a sealed envelope or package. Each bid must be accompanied by a deposit of at least 20% of the full bid price. The term of the contract shall be for 18 months from the date of award. Interruptions due to military operations or excessively wet soil conditions may occur during the contract period. Additional timber may be requested at the discretion of the Real Estate Contracting Officer (RECO). Payment in advance is required before the timber is released for cutting. The 20% bid deposit shall be credited as the initial payment. Additional payment will be required as accumulated harvested timber values approach 20%, 40%, and 60% of the total bid price. The successful purchaser will be required to provide a performance bond of 10% of the bid amount.

The primary sawtimber species is yellow poplar. Previously used haul roads, log landings, and skid trails exist. Whole tree chipping is not permitted. An erosion and sedimentation plan, accident prevention plan (including first aid/CPR certification), and proof of Pennsylvania SFI professional timber harvester training program are required.
