The bid is for the resurfacing project. Questions must be submitted by December 3, 2025. Bids must be submitted by December 17, 2025. The contractor must begin work within 30 days of receiving the notice to proceed and complete paving by June 6, 2026, and all other construction by June 30, 2026. Liquidated damages of $500 per day will be assessed for delays. The county's standard payment terms are net 30. A bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid amount is required. Performance and payment bonds each equal to 100% of the contract value are required. The contractor must provide insurance coverage. The contractor is responsible for providing all permits and licenses. The contractor will be responsible for quality control testing of materials incorporated into the project. The contractor shall contact utility companies to identify adjacent utilities prior to beginning construction operations. The contractor shall, always, conduct his work to ensure the least possible obstruction of traffic. The contractor shall provide all necessary and required barricades, signs, and other traffic control devices in accordance with the MUTCD and GDOT specifications. The milling equipment shall be a power driven, self-propelled machine which is specifically designed to mill and remove a specified depth of existing asphalt pavement. The contractor shall submit a mix design to the county for approval at least three weeks prior to construction. The contractor shall patch and repair all areas marked for repair by the inspector. The contractor shall place a wedge of soil along the shoulder. The contractor is responsible for replacing all existing thermoplastic markings, installing raised pavement markers and replacing all signal loops.
The contractor must complete paving by June 6, 2026, and all other construction by June 30, 2026. The contractor will mobilize with sufficient forces such that all paving is completed by June 6, 2026, and all other construction shoulder work, striping, etc. identified as part of this contract shall be complete by June 30, 2026.
