Sealed bids are solicited for the
disposal of infectious waste materials. Bids must be submitted electronically to ***@***. *. * by 07/10/2025 11:00 AM CT. The contract is a term contract, with a period beginning 08/12/2025 and ending 06/30/2026. The contract may be renewed for two 12-month periods. Pick-up locations include the Pennington biomedical research center, reproductive biology center, environmental health safety, lsu campus, student health infirmary, and lsu veterinary school. Bids must include a resume of the supplier's expertise, experience, and ability in the field of medical/infectious waste
disposal service, including transporterepa id numbers and incinerator permit information, and a list of clients. The university is to be billed separately for each location, monthly, based upon actual pounds. Suppliers must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, and requirements in connection with the packaging, pickups, transportation, and
disposal of materials. The university reserves the right to add additional pick-up locations. Suppliers must provide inservice education to lsu staff handling infectious waste at each location. A copy of the manifest is to be left at each location upon removal of the waste. After incineration, the supplier is to provide final manifest documentation to lsu that ensures proper
disposal was performed. The supplier shall take title to the waste at the time the waste is fully loaded onto the supplier's truck and thereby agrees to take responsibility for loading, transportation, treatment, and final
disposal. Pickups will be weekly unless notified otherwise by the using department. The university reserves the right to change the schedule in order to meet the needs of the quantity produced. When called for an emergency pickup, a supplier must be able to be onsite as soon as practicable for a waste pickup after the call for an emergency pickup. During a declared emergency or during hurricane recovery efforts, the university reserves the right to add pick-up locations and add multiple pickups per day per location should the need arise. No specific volume can be guaranteed. The university representative of each location will be designated in writing upon acceptance of the bid. Environmental health and safety will be the contract manager for this contract.
