The bid opening date is May 26, 2026, at 10:00 a. m. prevailing local time. Proposals or bids must be received by this date and time. The work will be substantially completed within a specified time after the contract time commences, and final payment is contingent on completion. The City of Pikeville will make progress payments on account of the contract price on the 4th Monday of each month. No contract will be awarded to a bidder deemed unqualified due to unfavorable performance, reputation, or lack of resources. Liquidated damages of **** per day will be assessed for delays in substantial completion and for failure to complete the remaining work after substantial completion. The bid notice states, contractor shall pay owner **** for each day that expires after the time specified in paragraph 4. 02 for substantial completion until the work is substantially complete. after substantial completion, if contractor shall neglect, refuse, or fail to complete the remaining work within the contract time or any proper extension thereof granted by owner, contractor shall pay owner **** for each day that expires after the time specified in paragraph 4. 02 for completion and readiness for final payment until the work is completed and ready for final payment.

The bid notice implies that bidders are presumed to have inspected the site if necessary.
